One of the prominent attractions in the area is the Spruce Meadows equestrian facility, which is located just to the south west of Somerset. As far as the education in the area is concerned, the Somerset School is a public school that services kindergarten students through those in the fourth grade. For kids between grades five and nine, they attend the Samuel W. Shaw School. The Bishop O-Byrne High School is also in use by people who live in Somerset.
